DRAKER LABORATORIES TO MONITOR 800kW PV PROJECT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FOR SOLAR MONKEY
Long Beach, CA-Solar Monkey has chosen Draker Laboratories of Burlington, VT to provide the performance monitoring for an 800kW photovoltaic installation at a major aerospace component manufacturing facility in the Los Angeles area. Draker will be providing the hardware on-site and long-term monitoring services.
"Accurate monitoring is essential with a system of this size," said Solar Monkey's Matt McCollugh. "With California's strict reporting standards and our desire to maximize operational performance, Draker was an obvious choice."
"We've been putting the finishing touches on the system during Solar Power 2007," said Draker founder and CEO A.J. Rossman. "It's been inspiring to be actually in the field doing hand's-on work while attending the conference."
The installation, which is distributed across three buildings, will incorporate three of the new Sentalis 1000 PV units linked together for monitoring and reporting of the cumulative total of 801KW DC. The system was installed under the new California Solar Initiative program and is required to be monitored by a professional independent monitoring company.
