AJ Rossman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer
AJ formulates the vision of the company with input and is currently managing a very talented and passionate engineering staff. He is a data acquisition expert and a practicing solar engineer in addition to being an entrepreneur. AJ has been involved with the renewable energy industry for over ten years now. He has academic backgrounds in both engineering and science and over 15 years of hands on experience making field-based data acquisition work. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering as well as additional Master’s Degrees in Geology and Environmental Science. He is All-But-Dissertation as a Ph.D. candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Vermont. His dissertation involves numerical simulation for the optimization of hybrid PV/wind systems. He is working with Dr. Peter Lilienthal of the National Renewable Energy Lab to someday complete his dissertation. AJ has taught a renewable energy design course at the UVM for the last five years. AJ will be the 2008 Chair of the Applications Division, the most active technical working group of the American Solar Energy Society, and he has been asked to be on the advisory board of Vermont Technical College’s new BS degree program in Sustainable Design and Technology.
Adam Bouchard, Process Implementation
Adam formulates company processes with input from the entire staff and implements a company web portal designed to maximize company efficiency. He has spent the last 6 months with Draker working on web application software creation. He brings valuable experience with process management techniques, leadership and organization to the Draker Laboratories ‘management team’. Prior to working for Draker, Adam served as a junior military intelligence officer in the US Army, performing leadership roles during oversea assignments in both the Balkans and Middle East. His key positions included Executive Officer, Platoon Leader, Human Intelligence Team Leader, and Staff Intelligence Officer. He has learned to effectively define, lead and empower diverse team members to discover and execute the simplest process for accomplishing their objectives. Along with his military experience, Adam has taught martial/medical qigong classes and is a certified Zen Shiatsu practitioner. He has a professional certificate in website development and management from Champlain College, a BS degree in Business from the Wittemore School of Business and Economics, a distinguished military ROTC graduate, and has aspirations of earning a master’s degree in engineering. Like everyone at Draker, Adam is passionate about the environment, energy and sustainability, and enjoys being a part of the contribution that Draker offers.
Rob Conboy, Vice President of Finance and Operations
Rob manages the company finances and the marketing efforts. Since joining Draker in October 2007, Rob has been responsible for maintaining investor relations; overseeing financial controls and processes; and setting the marketing strategic vision for 2008 and beyond. He received the first MBA with an emphasis in sustainability from the University of Vermont in 2004. He has over 15 years of strategic planning experience, with highly entrepreneurial companies such as Burton Snowboards and Seventh Generation. Most recently he founded and Exact Change which provided consulting services to small and midsized firms. While acting as a consultant, his client engagements ranged from sales and marketing strategy to comprehensive business planning. He’s also been the point person for debt conversion to equity and merger due diligence. He’s currently serving on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for John Todd Ecological Design, Inc and the non-profit Burlington Children’s Space.
